Essay Topics - What is an Essay Topic?
Essay Topics - What is an Essay Topic?I BELIEVE essay topics are an important part of essay writing. If you are serious about your essay, you will definitely want to do your best to make the most of the essay topic that you choose. In general, essay topics can be categorized into four types: thesis, research and/or argument, information and/or argument, and what-if. In addition, there are two more subtypes: a single statement (where all the essay topic has to do is provide evidence and a conclusion), and multiple statements (where the essay topic has to do more than just provide evidence). However, just knowing what type you should choose will not help you any if you do not know how to compose the essay correctly. You may not think that you need to write an essay topic that provides evidence. After all, in a test, students are expected to show that they have made an argument or information. Or, if you are taking a test that does not involve a thesis statement, it is likely that you wil l just present facts. But for any essays that involve arguing, you should certainly choose an essay topic that provides evidence. It is not uncommon for students to present two to three arguments in their essays: one that supports their argument and one that opposes it. However, most of the time, students will end up having to give evidence in the form of the thesis statement. This is because their argument could support many different points, and they may have to give evidence to support several different points.Since so many students will be presenting evidence in their essays, you may need to consider adding an I BELIEVE. Why?Students who include an I BELIEVE at the beginning of their essay may be proving to the reader that they have done enough proof-reading to ensure that they have taken care of all possible problems with their argument. Additionally, in many cases, the I BELIEVE may motivate your reader to support your argument by giving them reasons to believe your argument. T his can give the reader a sense of validation of their support.Once you have decided on the type of essay topic you want to write, you will want to find a topic that contains all of the elements that you will use to create your argument. This can be easily done by using a word processor or Internet search engine, as you will find that this is a simple process.
